THEO Wujcik: On a Clear Day

Tampa - TEMPUS PROJECTS is pleased to present Theo Wujcik: On a Clear Day. The opening reception for this exhibition will be Friday, April 5, from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. Theo Wujcik studied fine art at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, and majored in lithography for his post-graduate work at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Wujcik is co-founder of the Detroit Lithography Workshop, and was the Director of the print lab at Graphicstudio on the campus of the University of South Florida, where he taught fine art from 1970 until 2003 (retired). 

His work has been featured in numerous solo exhibitions, including the Gulf Coast Museum of Art, Largo, Florida, and Galleri Urbane, Dallas, Texas, as well as an upcoming exhibition at Gagosian Gallery, New York. Wujcik is featured in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, Los Angeles County Museum, Los Angeles, California, and the Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa, Florida. 

The event is free and open to the public but donations are greatly appreciated. Refreshments and light hors d'oeuvres while they last. Feel free to BYOB. Classes and groups are encouraged and welcomed. This exhibition will run from April 5 through May 3, 2013, with gallery hours by appointment. This event is sponsored in part by the Mermaid Tavern. Tempus invites you to join us at the Mermaid for an after-party at 10PM, following the reception. The Mermaid is located at 6719 N Nebraska Ave, Tampa, FL, 33604.

TEMPUS PROJECTS is dedicated to nurturing established and emerging local, national and international artists through exhibitions and events. The project promotes artists working in all media and originates, organizes and hosts exhibitions that engage the Tampa Bay community through the visual arts. Established in 2009, TEMPUS PROJECTS has presented over 43 exhibitions featuring the work of more than 178 artists and collaborators. 

Located on Florida Avenue in a converted garage on the back lot of a commercial property in South Seminole Heights, TEMPUS PROJECTS is highly regarded as cultural catalyst and a neighborhood touchstone. It has contributed greatly to the district’s emergence as a unique and creative local destination. In acknowledgment of its contributions to the arts and the community, Tampa’s Creative Loafing has awarded TEMPUS PROJECTS the "Best Alternative Art Space" Loafie award for three consecutive years. TEMPUS PROJECTS has worked in collaboration with Experimental Skeleton, Silver Meteor Gallery, Tampa’s Downtown Partnership, and Creative Loafing.
